			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I am back and writing again on this site after a two year hiatus. I miss cooking and working on recipes. Since my NON-culinary adventures have proved valuable in exploring my skill set, I am thrilled to be back in the kitchen creating the things I do love. The kitchen has always been a studio to me where I can create meaningful dishes that feed my family, friends, and myself. Food is sacred medicine supporting the body&#8217;s ability to shine and producing an abundance of health in those I serve it to.</p>
<p>On another note, I have read and followed Celiac Chicks for many years now and want to encourage anyone with a gluten allergy or intolerance to check out that blog. Kelly has timely and valuable information to share.</p>
<p>As promised two years ago, I am opening up Baking with Julia and converting the recipes to gluten free as time allows.</p>

<p>I just made a gluten free, dairy and egg free chocolate chip cookie this week, but it needs tweeking. Hopefully it will be up soon.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I am going to a Fluxus party tonight with my husband. Never heard of a fluxus? Neither had I! The object is to bring a dish to share and it&#8217;s recipe along with another &#8220;fluxus&#8221; recipe&#8221;. I take this to mean a recipe in a constant state of change or at least one in an evolved state. Your welcome to come up with your own definition.</p>
<p>I asked my kids what they thought of this and we all agreed that a state of change was a necessity. So together we made a timeless salad haiku. Here it is&#8230;.Oh, by the way, I am taking a salad as well. Check out the recipes section of this blog for Chutney Salad.</p>
<p>Salad Haiku</p>
<p>Blue Cheese is the Chi</p>
<p>Spread through out creamy dressing</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><em>Pork Pibil </em>is a beautiful dish and one to inaugurate this blog. This Mayan dish comes from the Yucatan Peninsula where pork was marinated in bitter seville orange juice, annatto seeds and various spices. Then wrapped in a banana leaf and slow roasted by burying it in a covered pit that had a fire at the bottom of it. I have never used the pit method myself. Let me know if you try it. I happened across this as a day chef working for a Chilean woman who owned her own restaurant. She had a list of people she personally called, when this dish was a special for the evening.</p>
<p>Serve it with pan roasted plantains and mango salsa. For the Pork Pibil recipe look under Recipes <em>Meats</em>.</p>
<p>Note: While I was making this I often thought of watching Once Upon a Time in Mexico for the character Agent Sands was obsessed with Pork Pibil and makes several references to it. However, I thought that cooking to such an action-packed and violent movie might leave a bad taste in my mouth. I mean this literally as cooking reflects the energy you put into it. Think of the love, passion and beauty with which it will fill your guests.</p>

<p>I would like to note that my site will include gluten free recipes. I love to bake and eat items that have alternative flours and find cooking gluten free an adventure and passion of mine.</p>
<p>I am currently working on converting all the recipes in Julia Childs Baking with Julia Cookbook to alternative flours. Some are easy, others will take time. Check out the recipes section as I continue to add new recipes.</p>
